HR Transition Date to be advised Introduction HR Transition describes the attempt to redesign the functionality of HR Departments in organisations. This is usually a response to the perception that HR is high cost and low value and therefore ripe for downsizing and/or outsourcing. It also reflects the aspiration of HR professionals to provide a high value contribution to their organisations. HR Transition tends to be directed at the generalists or administrators. It attempts to redraw their roles and responsibilities to ensure administrative efficiency and in addition, raise the value of the contribution of the generalists. Many mergers and acquisitions do not create the shareholder value or the increased profits that is forecasted. Very often, little or no attention is paid to the impact on human capital during the Merger & Acquisition process. Equally, at times of restructuring (which often accompanies Merger & Acquisition, or closely follows it), managing the impact on affected employees is left to the last minute. Hence, HR Transition is an important factor that must be taken into consideration. This one day workshop concentrates on acquiring skills and insights necessary to enable the HR Professional/Line Manager to deliver a strategic and practical role in the two processes.
