Competency-Based Training Needs Analysis 18 April 2012, Introduction Training is an investment in the performance of your staff, your work group and your organization. To make the most of this investment, you need to be completely clear of the outcomes you need from the training. Before selecting any training program, it is best to undertake training-needs analysis to identify whom, what and to what level one requires the training. The easiest method to use is a competency-based training needs analysis; this is a performance based analysis which is tied to the strategic and operational requirements of the company and the person’s role.
